Evaluation of Nutritive Values through Comparison of Forage Yield and Silage Quality of Mono-Cropped and Intercropped Maize-Soybean Harvested at Two Maturity Stages

Maize and soybean intercropping is a cereal-legume pattern that not only increases grain yield but also improves the nutritional value of silage. Experiments were conducted in summer season to compare composition forage silage quality mono-cropped maize intercropped maize-soybean harvested at two stages maturity. The main treatments one sole crop (SM) four patterns (one-row one-row (1M1S), two-row (1M2S), three-row (1M3S), (2M1S). crops when reached milk (R3) maturity (R6) stages. Results indicated significant increase fresh biomass dry-matter production fodder alone compared with those fodder. After 60 days ensiling period, samples analyzed for pH, organic acids, dry matter, crude protein (CP), ether extract, neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid (ADF), other mineral compositions. All silages showed higher CP values (1M1S, 12.1%; 1M2S, 12.2%; 1M3S, 12.4%; 2M1S, 12.1%) than SM (8.7%). Higher acids produced 1M3S silages. Correlation data was highly correlated lactic negatively associated fiber, nitrogen-free NDF. Thus, recommended due its enhanced production, dairy animals, prolific animal feedings because it scientifically evaluated as feed stuff. This study most preferable among terms nutrient composition.
